Tucson passes “source of income” as a protected class.

Attorneys Chris Welch and Mark Zinman discuss the City of Tucson’s newest law which makes “source of income” a protected class for fair housing purposes in the city. This means that a landlord cannot discriminate based upon where an applicant’s funds come from and all property owners must now participate in Section 8. While this sounds straightforward, there are a lot of nuances to this change, and it requires property owners in Tucson to change their screening criteria and application standards. Listen to the Zona Law attorneys discuss these issues.
